Saturday 21st August
11am – 3pm
Seafield Community Recycling Centre, Fillyside Road, Edinburgh
If you’d like your kids to turn into environmentally responsible adults then it’s a good idea to introduce them to the basics of recycling at a young age. Most of us know the maxim ‘reduce, reuse, recycle’ – but how many of us actually know what happens to our waste once we put it in the coloured recycling bins?
Edinburgh Council aims to change this, by educating the whole family about the journey your household waste takes. The day will be fun and educational, with a range of interactive events for the kids to take part in including prizes, competitions, games, arts and crafts. You will also be introduced to all the bugs and beasties that live on your compost heap, and children will get a free recyclable school bag and stationery to start the new school term.
