Here at the Informed Edinburgh office we’re getting rather excited about this year’s HATWALK fashion show – a showcase of some of the best millinery talent from Europe, as well as Scotland’s up-and-coming student designers. The event is called The Milliner’s Tale, and promises to be a glamorous evening, full of drama, music and, of course, hats.
These images from previous years show that the quality of work exhibited at HATWALK is of the very highest standard, and the big names associated with it are a testament to this. Legendary British designers Philip Treacy and Zandra Rhodes are patrons of the charity, which aims to support young millinery talent through workshops, as well as the bi-annual fashion show.
Schoolchildren who have taken part in workshops throughout the year are invited to take part in a special set where they model their own hats and a prize is awarded for the best design. As part of the prize, the winner is invited to London to meet HATWALK patron Philip Treacy and learn more about the craft at the highest level.
HATWALK: The Milliner’s Tale is being held at Stewart’s Melville College on Saturday 11th September. Prices start from £6.50 and are available from Booth Tickets. A proportion of the profits will be donated to the It’s Good 2 Give! charity.
