Many people’s lives are blighted by skin conditions such as rosacea, sun damage, birthmarks, port wine stains and thread veins.
We asked YourGP what they would recommend to help.
What Is IPL™?
IPL™ is short for Intense Pulsed Light, a technology used by cosmetic and medical practitioners to perform various skin treatments for aesthetic and therapeutic uses including hair removal and photorejuvenation.
How Does IPL™ Technology Help Skin Conditions Such As Rosacea, Sun Damage And Birthmarks?
IPL™ technology improves both superficial and deeper skin layers rejuvenating them, whilst delivering beneficial thermal energy to the deep tissue. Skin tone is evened out, pigmentation fades and the redness associated with rosacea is reduced.
What Areas Does IPL™ Photo Rejuvenation Treat?
* Sun Damage: Pigmentation on the face, chest and arms
* Sunspots: Individual pigmented lesions, also known as age spots
* Rosacea: General inflammation on the cheeks and face
* Spider Veins: Individual vessels, which can be red or purple in colour
Can The IPL™ System Be Used On Any Part Of The Body?
Yes, IPL effectively treats the face, chest, arms and hands however, is less effective for leg treatments.
What Can I Do To Prepare For A Treatment?
We recommend you book a complimentary consultation to discuss your needs, answer any questions and carry out a test patch. It is important you avoid sun exposure and tanning (including fake tan) prior to any treatment.
How Do You Know Which Areas To Target?
We recommend you have a Beau Visage™ facial skin analysis prior to treatment. This analysis will highlight the areas that need to be targeted.
What Is Beau Visage™ ?
Beau Visage™ system is a camera that takes a series of photographs up to 2mm below the surface of the skin on your face. These are analysed by a computer program which produces images for you to see the areas of damage that require targeted treatment.
Is The IPL™ Treatment Painful?
The treatment is often likened to the pinging of an elastic band against your skin, not very uncomfortable and due to the high tech cooling system the pulses keep your skin safe from overheating.
How Many Treatments Does YourGP Recommend?
To receive best results we would recommend a series of three to six sessions. You will see a significant reduction of unwanted pigmentation with noticeably smoother, revitalised skin.
